So I'm thinking of maybe bringing back a manual 735i (V8) pretty soon... Play around with it in Europe instead of renting a car, then shipping it back here (Canada) and hopefully making a bit of profit, if not paying for part of my trip...
How much do you think a manual 735i could be worth here? Would it be a good idea or would I be better off renting a car for a month and a half instead of going through the trouble of buying the car, shipping it back and hoping to make a bit of cash?

If you're doing it to make cash, I wouldn't bother, there's probably better ideas than the this. Now if you're going to keep it, it's among the coolest cars I can think of. I've toyed with the idea of converting a 740i with a 6-speed. It's been done and it's glorious.

I also want a confortable somewhat fast fun car to roadtrip around... Making a bit of cash out of it once back here would just be good. I know there are much better than this to make cash out of ;)

Why the 735i? While you're at it you could get a manual 740i instead. Or a 725tds diesel.
Here's a link to 65 manual e38s currently for sale.

I hate diesels so no :)
Did not even know the 740i was also made in manual so why not... I'm basically just trying to find a car to drive around when back in France. As I said, making a bit of money out of it would just be cool, but if I can break even and at least save on a rental, I'd be happy.

Road tripping in France demands a French vehicle. Get a nice Peugeot 406 coupe. And no, I'm not biased at all. If you want more comfort and (rear) space; Citroën XM. Not everyone's cup of tea, I know, but you can't blame me for trying :)

I AM french, I just happen to live in Canada... I had to deal with crappy french cars my whole life, so no thanks :)
I also would not touch a Citroen XM with a stick haha. The 406 could have been nice, butthey ruined with wrong wheel drive.
